I took about 100 ghost photos, but was unable to to capture a paranormal image, our reproduce the images of the photos I took in the Jennie Wade House two years ago. Happy Five Abbey
It's Abbey's Birthday 
It seems like just five years ago she was born. I got a new flip camcorder and bought Movie Edit Pro 15. I'm gonna try and make a five minute video of her birthday party. I got about an hour of video of it so it might take me a few weeks, our months, I'm still learning the program. I'm also going to try to do a dumb little video of Gettysburg. Maybe ghost hunters who are not very good at it. I guess Janice our Jeannine will have to be man #2 now.

Blackle
As some of you know, I am a big fan of Google - they have everything! Web site builder, calendar, documents, and much more. Also, it's supposed to be a really great place to work. I recently discovered "Blackle" which is the same thing as Google, only in an energy-saving format. Apparently an all white web page uses about 74 watts to display, while an all black page uses only 59 watts.
I also read recently about Greenpeace Brazil's "Black Pixel Project." You download a program that makes a 50X50 pixel black square on your monitor (you can move it anywhere you want), which results in less energy being used. For more, read here.
Both ideas only make a difference if lots of people try it. That's one reason I like the environmental movement - I actually feel like I can make a difference.

Futurama is BACK
Holy crap. It looks like the rumors were true. Futurama is BACK.
After four movies, Comedy Central decides that they want more of Futurama and renewed them for TWENTY SIX new episodes starting 2010. That's twice the amount of episodes that were rumored.

Speaking of the number nine, this is a trailer for Tim Burton's latest project, if you haven't seen it yet.
Also, presenting the upcoming game Scribblenauts for the DS. Apparently you go through levels by solving puzzles just by writing something in, and whatever you write in appears on the screen. I've heard it's difficult to think of something it doesn't know about (aside from anything vulgar or copyrighted).
My friend works at the company that made this game, 5th Cell. It's actually my favorite new game company, because everything it's made so far has been original (just DS games so far).

Yackity Yack Kayak
I went kayaking today for the first time and it was awesome! We went on the Niangua River, which is peaceful and calm and has a lot of wildlife. I think I liked it a lot better than canoeing because I got my own kayak, which means I got to do my own thing and learn my own way. Also, it has a different feel to it. But, a lot of the basic concepts are the same - back peddling, front peddling, direction, etc... I never really wanted to try it before because I thought your legs would be completely closed in. As it turns out, kayaks like that are designed for extreme rapids and sea kayaking. The kayaks we used today gave a lot of leg room. Really only my ankles were covered.
We went with a guy named River Jim, who is this cool retired river hippie who sells kayaks wholesale and takes people on float trips. He charged $10 to rent a kayak for the day, and even went with us to teach us how to do it. I thought that was super reasonable. One of the best parts is that he is the only one on that part of the river who takes people on float trips, so we didn't see anyone else the entire time we were out. Jim has a great philosophy on life so he's pretty cool to talk to. Plus he's a bit of an environmentalist, which was fun for me. He has a house right next to the river - and he built it completely by himself.
I decided that someday I would love to live by the river in an off-grid home and run some sort of home-business of some kind. A friend joked that I should start a worm-business because I do worm composting, but I don't think I know enough about worms. I suppose I could learn!
Anyways, the point of all of this is that we need to go kayaking on the Niangua sometime soon! I plan to go often this summer! Yay summer!
