High Speed Police Chase

So I was at my apartment one day talking to my friend Shaun on the phone right? All of the sudden I heard what sounded like a bunch of police cars or fire trucks or something. I went out on my balcony to check it out, but I didn't see anything right away. Out of nowhere, some white car Tokyo drifts it's way around the corner. I thought "man, that guy is cool but irresponsible". About 3 seconds after, 15 or so police cars appear magically from all directions of me. Just like that, our parking lot had become some kind of car rodeo and my car was stuck innocently in the middle of it. They were all driving in circles, jumping hills, jumping medians, going through lawns, and driving through signs. Car parts were flying everywhere. At one point, a cop got out of his car and pointed a gun at the white car. I got scared a little then. I think the white car tried to scare the cop cause it looked like it was driving toward him for a while. That lasted about 20 seconds, and then they were all gone.

So I was explaining this all in detail to my friend who was still on the phone. About 5 minutes after they all left, my friend was like "what the hell". The car chase had apparently come to him (btw, he lives at Battlefield and Kansas which isn't that close to me). I guess they caught the dudes there after he crashed. It's weird because they've been chasing him through two counties, yet they found their way to our apartment. Apparently, I must know some criminals.

On a lighter note, the Star Trek TNG cast is reuniting on Family Guy! I looks to be an all Star Trek episode, too. Story here

Happy Birthday Uncle Bob

Today is Steven's 22nd Birthday. Not bad for a guy who the Doctors said wouldn't make it to his tenth birthday. Take that modern medicine. I don't have a picture of him, I lost most of my pics when my hard drive broke, all I have left are my Civil War Photos, I even lost my Monticello photos, maybe I'll put one on in a few days.

Lost and Founded

OGAWDOGAWDOGAWD

(excerpt from Art for Arf's Sake)

John Flansburgh of They Might Be Giants: What do we need to say? It's the guy from freakin' They Might Be Giants!! You don't need us to tell you about them if you know TMBG and if you don't know...well, you've led a sheltered life. We'll help with that! We hadn't seen his art piece in person yet when we got an email from Operator Dot of TMBG.com, our liaison with the dynamic duo, "... John F just called to tell me he's superfastmailing the project to you today in time for Saturday*. It's a ukulele with paintings of his cat on it." Pure genius.

Imagine how good "Dr. Worm" will sound played on a uke hand painted by a Giant!

We're still lobbying for a TMBG theme song for our BCTV show. I bet a really high winning bid and personal letter to John from the winner might help....

*Apparently, it wasn't superfast enough. The Uke arrived the day after the 2008 auction, making it the very first piece of celebrity art for the 2009 auction!

Those dang athiests are using numbers again

Here's a follow-up for dad's monkey post.

Happy 53rd Birthday Nelly

Well, she says its her 29th birthday, but we know its her 53rd. We are celebrating her birthday by going to a Jackets game, and she is not going, cause she doesn't like hockey.

Yesterday was also Lincoln's 200th birthday. Some say we are related to the man who assassinated him, though I've never seen any proof of that. So to honor Lincoln, I shall show you a picture of me in front of his memorial.

Camping is the way to be

Two Mom said that you guys where wondering if there where campgrounds at Gettysburg. Well of course there is. There is Artillery Ridge, email address is www.artilleryridge.com.
Then there is The Drummer Boy at www.drummerboycamping.com. There are about a half dozen more. Just go to www.Gettysburg.com and click of visitors information on the left. Then scroll down to where it says "camping" and click on that. Some of those cottages at Drummer boy look really nice. They have an eight person one for $187 a night. For those of you that do go bring your hiking boots. I've got a whole bunch of self guided tour books that have walking trails in them. Some of them our over 3 hours long, like the wheat field, Little Round top is only an hour, but the Devils Den is about two hours, and has dangerous rocks you have to walk over. The Culps hill one is over 5 hours, and it has a driving tour part in it. Also if you wanted to go to D.C. for a day, its only an hour away. You'll also have to let me know when you want to go, before our after the wedding.

Look what I found, and it's in Seattle

Joy Mallory and her daughter, Nakesha Beith, 4, test the sturdiness of a mystery monolith as other curious spectators circle the 9-foot-tall steel sculpture which stands on a grassy noll in Magnuson Park, Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2001, in Seattle. No one knows who installed the sculpture, reminscent of the structure in the landmark science fiction movie, 2001: A Space Odyssey. The unmarked sculpture appears to have been put in place on New Year's Eve. There is no plaque or other clue to the sculptor. When questioned about the significance of the monolith's appearance, Super Genius Mark Shields responded, "I'm not sure, but I do know that I want to sit on top of it!"

Garfield Minus Garfield

Garfield Minus Garfield

Someone took Garfield out of Garfield comics so John seems completely insane!
