I always liked that quote from Jefferson about spending responsibly. When Jefferson died he was so eyeball deep in dept that right after he was burried his family was kicked out of Monticello by the banks, and his slaves sold, and familys seperated to pay off is debt. Thats why he didn't like banks, cause he owed them so much money. Madison is a good guy to. When he wrote the bill of rights, something he was orriginally dead set against (read the federalist papers, there on my ebook)and only did them to help ratiffy the constitution, he wrote the first ammendment(freedom of religion) not to keep god out of goverment, but to prevent the federal goverment from stoping the states from having certain religious statues and oaths in the local goverments. You also have to be very carfule when you quote the founding fathers, they would often like us, say one thing, then when it worked against them, do another thing. Like Jefferson. In 1796 when he ran for president the first time, he beleaved the electors should vote infavor of the people in there districs that voted for them. SO if Virgina voted overwhelmingly for him, but one district voted for Adams, the elector from that district should vote for Adams. Of course 2 fathless electors cost Jefferson the 1796 election. So for the next 4 years he helped pass laws that gave the majority winner in a state all the electoral votes, which helped him win the election of 1800.
TJ should have asked for a bailout. lol He also wrote in the intro to the Declaration "all men are created equal" which I guess didn't include women or slaves.

They only quoted Virginians too. I think that we should all take lessons on morality from men who bought and sold other people.

I've been mad at Jefferson ever since he faked the moon landing to beat the Nazis in the space race.
