You know the drill!
So, the plan is:
1) Land in Kansas City on December 24th at 6:20pm.
2) Get ride to Springtown from [[ERROR: DRIVER NOT FOUND]].
3) Drink egg nog with family until the 31st.
4) [[ERROR: DRIVER NOT FOUND]] has volunteered to drive me to Lawrence where I will celebrate New Years before departing until I have enough money to come back.
In other news, guess who has a magic trick on iTunes!
Bonus:
Love it or hate it, here's the intro for Beatles Rock Band, directed by a Gorillaz guy.

Confirmed: R2-D2 Discovered in Star Trek

At last, here's the droid we were all looking for. In this frame you can clearly see R2-D2's cameo in JJ Abrams' Star Trek. This time there's absolutely no doubt about it: It's been confirmed by ILM.
Can you see him floating there, on the left, right below the huge arrow that I also missed when I saw the movie? That's obviously him, a fact that has been confirmed to me by one of the movie's sequence supervisors at Industrial Light & Magic—the same guy who said this previous sighting was just the shuttle.

Rock Band Voice Engine Tricked By Something Called a "Musical Instrument"
The musical cosmos have been tilted out of balance for quite a while now, violently thrown askew sometime between when the first fake guitar rolled off an assembly line in China and the first time a child recognized the Beatles on the radio as "that song from my Xbox!"

John Gibbo needs help with his thesis
Hello Everyone,
I'm in need of people to try out three different web site and evaluate their usefulness. The dead line for completion is October 31stso I'm in need of as much help as I can get this week. If you are already familiar with facebook, then take just an hour to help me out and complete these user evaluations. The instructions are below:
------------------------------------------------------------------
Hello User,
Thank you participating in this user survey of the following web applications:
Clip Marks
Friend Lens
To participate in this survey you must meet the following minimum requirements:
1. If not already installed, install Firefox 3.0 or greater. (Internet Explorer and Chrome will not benefit our survey. We also request that all participants use the same web browser in the hopes to removing interface inconsistencies)
2. Create an account at each site
3. If any of the web applications require a firefox plug-in please follow the instructions on the respective site in order to do so. (Note: Installation of Facebook "Apps" are not required for this survey)
The survey that you will take can be found at http://friendlens.no-ip.org (it is a large link in the top menu after login)
Part of the survey is to evaluate the ease and intuitiveness of using a particular site, so you will not be given instructions here. In other words, it up the each web application to teach you how to use it. Feel free to look over the survey before you begin to ensure that you can confidently reply to all questions.
Important notes:
1. If any web site is unreachable or down, please notify the survey coordinator, John Gibbons, immediately
2. Remember to be as unbiased in your responses as possible. Do not allow prior familiarity with any of the web applications or knowledge of the origins of a web application to influence your responses.
3. This is an open survey. You can forward this email to anyone you wish as long as they will follow all of the instructions.
4. All survey submissions are anonymous. You do not have to submit or post personal information if you do not want to.
5. There is no time limit on how long you can use a given web application, but please spend at least 30 minutes with each before moving onto the survey.

If you could email me back and let me know if you can help and/or send this email along to friends, family, or coworkers I would appreciate it.
Sincerely,
--
John Gibbons

World Hunger VS Religion
But hey, we've been talking about religion for a while. Maybe we should relax and watch some Sesame Street. The guy who made this is now a Pixar bigshot and was the feature of the Boundin' short.

You Don't See This Everyday
Hope this works. My first video post (hopefully). Anyway this group from Dayton History spoke to my class tonight and this was one of the projects they were talking about.
Before anyone asks, yes they really did have a group of bagpipers playing and marching in front of the first house.

Found a house - Moving in about a month!
The house is near Rutledge Farm (near Sunshine and West Bypass for you Springfieldians out there). It's also really close to some Greenways bike trails and a creek. It's a three bedroom two bath that's about 9 years old - so hopefully it is fairly energy efficient due to insulation and newer appliances. A couple rooms need new paint (kitchen and bathroom), but overall not a lot of maintanance needed. Super excited about the big back yard - I have big plans for an organic garden next summer and a compost system this fall! And a PUPPY!

This album seems to be on a higher level than the ones about ABCs and 123s, but that's to be expected. I'm guessing History's next up to bat.
Even if you thin electric cars are ridiculous or Satanic, this video is pretty.
This one is actually written by their bassist. It could probably be written to be about Anthropology, but I don't think anyone's interested in ants.

Good News For Everybody
Now for some better news. The Seattle trip is off. Not knowing how high 2009's taxes are going to be, I'm still paying on 2008's, I can only afford to travel to places within a 400 mile radius on Columbus. So we have decided to go instead to, that's right you guessed it, GETTYSBURG. I know this is a waist of time, but your all more then welcome to join us. Where going to try June, our late July.

The Next Step...
In my first quarter I get to go on several site evaluations including Perryville Battlefiled and Richmond Battlefield in Kentucky. At Perryville we will be there for the re-enactment, which is kind of exciting because I have never seen a re-enactment before. I also have to start thinking about where I want to do my internship this summer. Since my area of interest is the Cold War my top spots are the Reagan Library, The Smithsonian Air and Space Museum or the Military Museum, or the Air Force Museum in Dayton where they are working with a grant to build a oral history of the techonolgy developed during the Cold War. I also wouldn't mind working at other sites including, but not limited to, Mount Vernon, Monticello, Yorktown, and or Gettysberg. The program has connections with all of these places so all I need to do pick one and make sure my bills can be covered and my current job preserved while I do my internship.
I'm excited about this. I start back to school on September 8th so I have less than two weeks to get everything in gear and so I can continue my punishing schedule of working fulltime, schooling fulltime, and studying full time, oh well I guess sleep is overrated.

Garden Almost Gone
My little movie about aliens of Gettysburg is on hold until I find some fake glasses, and some white hair spray. All the beards and mustaches I got are black, and I need some white ones. With Halloween just a few months away I shouldn't have any trouble finding the stuff I need in a few weeks. I have to do the old man first, he sets the pace of the movie. That's about all I've got.

I got a job too..
The best part of this is I get to quit the job I have worked at for eight LONG years! Though I am leagally unable to mention their name on the internet, they have put me and many members of the family though a great deal of crap and I will not miss them! My last day there is August 12 and my first day of school is August 24. I can't wait, but mainly I can't wait for next summer when I don't have to work (that is why people become teachers, right?).
